Born and raised in a small beautiful town in North Central West Virginia. I received a degree in Architecture at Fairmont State University where I also studied ceramics and painting. My career originally led me to Atlanta, Georgia as an Architect where I continued to develop my passion for painting. After spending 16 long years in the city I made a brave decision to follow my heart and move to the Asheville area to become an artist. I now live on a very scenic and secluded mountaintop farm with my dog Alice where I work in my studio. I also share a pottery studio space at Marshall High Studios on the Island in beautiful downtown Marshall, North Carolina. My paintings are results of years of wanting to be where I am now. Combining the use of familiar landscape imagery, exaggerated shadow castings, and a texture that creates a layer of transparency, encourages an experience as if one were walking into a dream. Most of my paintings are oversized and hold monumental quality.
